Working and Employment opportunities in Brazil

Brazil is one of the BRIC nations and its economic growth statistics are the envy of many western governments. With a population of just under 200 million it is the largest country in South America and also the richest. It has recently overtaken the UK as the world’s sixth largest economy.

The major industries of Brazil have traditionally been Iron and Steel Production, Automobile Assembly, Petrochemicals and Cement, however recently technology based industries have outpaced these giants in terms of year on year growth.

Construction has been strong over the past decade, the increasing riches of the country have led to a boom in building.
Agriculture is also an important contributor to the nation’s GDP with soy bean crops, corn, cotton and tobacco as big cash crops. Brazil also has the largest cattle herds in the world, something like 200 million head of cattle in 2010!

The Services sector in common with much of the developed world has grown exponentially in the past few years now contributing around 70% of GDP coming from telecommunications, energy, commerce and banking.
There’s no doubt about it Brazil has to be near the top of global destinations for expats looking to work abroad, it really is time for it to shine so if you can speak Portuguese perhaps you should heads down there and see what all the fuss is about.
